Tees Barrage is one of the leading providers of water rescue training in the UK. We offer unrivalled water rescue training facilities and expert water safety courses for all groups and scenarios.

If you want to learn about water rescue and safety in a controlled and true-to-life environment, Tees Barrage is ideal. Here, you have two technical rescue training options, either:

• Hire our course facilities and carry out your own rescue training.
• Visit us on a day that suits you and take one of our on-site water rescue training courses (via Rescue 3 SAR).

These water safety training options take place on our Jubilee and Diamond white water courses, which then replicate all types of real-life situations.

Water rescue training courses

We tailor technical rescue training courses to individual requirements. So, don’t worry if your crew is small or you need to break off into teams at some point. The water you use is powered by 4 Archimedes screws, which gives us the capacity to guarantee water 24 hours a day, all year round!

You can do water rescue training on both courses. The flow of the course is fully adjustable thanks to our new Rapidbloc system — which is the same as the one used in the London 2012 Olympics — and you can practice vehicle rescue scenarios here, too. Our short white water course is restricted to a maximum of two crews at a time for safety reasons. Plus, there’s a limit of 14 people (including instructors) per crew.

We are affiliated with training provider, Rescue 3. Therefore, instructors must hold the Rescue 3 Swiftwater Rescue Technician – Level One qualification to use our water rescue facilities.
