Like you, we have been awaiting more detailed information regarding a proposed completion date for the maintenance work on the course and handover back from Canal & River Trust. Unfortunately, we have no involvement with the physical works or completion timeline, however, there is now water in the course, and whilst there is still work going on in the background, this is great news that a reopening date is seemingly getting closer.
As soon as we receive further information we will update you all and will publish the summer programme for the course.
Thanks for your patience and fingers crossed it won’t be long before we’re all back on the water.

The top slalom paddlers in the country descended on Tees Barrage International White Water centre last weekend in the final Premier league race of the season.
Local paddling talent did not disappoint as Tees Active Sports Academy stars shone on the Tees with star performances from Jake Brown who is now based in Nottingham turning in a scintillating second run which earned him a podium spot in third place in a very competitive field.
The strength in depth of local paddlers was showcased with Tees Active Sports Academy members Daisy Cooil, Eve Ovington and Ellie Brown recording 6th,8th and 12th positions respectively in the K1 race and Daisy Cooil recorded a 6th place as she also competed in the C1 category.
All the canoe slalom athletes will now be preparing for the hard training throughout the winter period as they prepare for the 2020 season and the Great Britain slalom trails.
Allan McDermott Tees Active Community Engagement Manger said, “The results last weekend is testament of the local paddling talent on Teesside and the hard work and dedication of the paddlers, parents and coaches. I know they will be working hard throughout the winter months and will return next spring in great shape to tackle the 2020 season.”
