UK CANOE SLALOM RACE HERE AT TEES BARRAGE

This October the UK Canoe Slalom racing calendar is coming to Tees Barrage International White Water Centre (TBIWWC). There are two full days of action with hundreds of paddlers expected that will be flooding in from all corners of the UK and competing to run the white water course in the quickest time whilst negotiating the slalom gates.

The event held over 19th-20th October at our world class facility promises to attract the best slalom paddlers including several of Tees Active Sports Academy members.

Chris Gibbens, Centre Manager at TBIWWC said “We are extremely excited to see the UK Canoe Slalom return to Tees Barrage. It is always a brilliant and competitive event with a series of races across the weekend. Canoe slalom is a spectacular sport to watch as it demands a vast amount of skill, stamina and courage so we welcome spectators to come and watch the action unfold. Whether you are interested in watersports or not it will be an entertaining spectacle to watch for people of all ages as well as families.”

The premiership division races will proceed on Saturday 19th at approximately 9:15am and run throughout the day. The Pan Celtic cup competition will also be held on Saturday. This international series will see England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales compete against each another in all categories and at all ages.

On Sunday 20th October the Division One competitors will take to the water as part of the Division One Championship. Races on Sunday start at 10am and run until 5:40pm.
