Yes, pretty much. Whether you’re a young adventurer of 14 years old or a thrill seeking granny celebrating her 100th birthday, as long as you’re fit, healthy and up for a laugh this is most certainly for you. You don’t need any experience or equipment. We would however advise anyone with heart conditions, severe arthritic conditions or anyone who is pregnant not to take part for your own safety. Click here for more information on white water rafting and to book online.
No in fact, 99% of people have never been white water rafting before when they visit us and we supply all the kit you’ll need. We provide you with a wetsuit, waterproof jacket, buoyancy aid and helmet but if you have your own wetsuit you are welcome to bring it along. We advise wearing swimwear under your wetsuit. You will be getting wet so make sure you bring a towel and a full change of dry clothes for afterwards. Bring an old pair of trainers to wear that you don’t mind getting wet.
We tailor each experience to the group so if you want to go in the water then we can certainly make that happen, but for those who are a little less adventurous we can still make it fun with less chance of you going in. But don’t worry falling out of a raft into the water is half the fun and will only increase the thrill of your experience! During your safety briefing, your instructor will tell you what you need to do if you fall in.
Yes, we have male and female shower and changing facilities on site so you can freshen up after your session.
Cook’s Café is situated inside the main watersports building on the top floor. The café has brilliant views of the flat water lake and Air Trail and serves a range of hot and cold food, including sandwiches, snacks, hot dishes and salads as well as hot and cold drinks. There is also a selection of tasty ice creams!
They take pride in serving freshly produced food which is locally sourced where possible and look forward to seeing you soon!
Due to the nature of some watersports activities a certain level of fitness and an understanding of the safety guidelines is needed. We have welcomed users of mixed abilities and complex needs to the centre and we ask that you give us a call to discuss requirements in greater detail so we can best advise 01642 678000.
Don’t worry, nearly everyone who visits us have never tried waterports before. You’ll have a safety briefing from our expert instructors and we’ll provide all the equipment you’ll need on the day including a buoyancy aid, wetsuit, helmet and paddle.
If you are of a 3 star standard with a competent roll, then yes! Don’t worry if you haven’t got that just yet, we run a variety of courses regularly throughout the year so you won’t be waiting long before you’re smashing up the rapids.
All of our activities must be booked in advance of your visit. Most of our activities and courses can be booked online from the activity page or alternatively you may call us on 01642 678000.
Certainly, we have many demo boats for you to try before you buy. Kev at NorthShore is our seasoned expert with years of industry knowledge, simply give him a call to arrange a demo and he will be happy to help 01642 520234.
Additional short course times will be added to the timetable closer to the date. Please check our Facebook page or contact us on 01642 678000 for the most up-to-date course times.
