Stand Up Paddleboarding

Stand-up paddleboarding is one of the newest additions to our selection of incredible activities. This watersport — otherwise known as SUP — is rocketing in popularity across the world. So, give it a go yourself right here at Tees Barrage!

What is stand-up paddleboarding?

This watersport comes from Hawaii and is a lot like surfing. All you have to do is stand or kneel on your board and use a single paddle to propel yourself through the water. But don’t think this isn’t an exciting watersport. Stand-up paddleboarding demands good balance and careful paddle strokes to make sure you don’t fall. So, we can’t guarantee you’ll stay dry, but we can say you’ll find it hilarious!

Why stand-up paddleboarding?

SUP is a growing trend for a reason. Firstly, stand-up paddleboarding is great entertainment, easy to pick up, and very accessible for all ages and abilities. This means you can do it for a laugh with pals, as a team-building exercise with workmates, or simply as a fun day out with the kids. The activity also boosts your core and upper body strength while giving you a cardio workout, so it’s excellent for all-round fitness, too! Gliding on water at your own pace is an amazing experience and exactly what you get with stand-up paddleboarding. Plus, we have all the equipment and facilities you need to ensure it’s a fun, hassle-free watersport. Just bring a towel and change of clothes.
