Film Production Location

Here at Tees Barrage International White Water Centre we not only have an amazing and unique site offering a host of activities, we also have the ideal infrastructure for filming a wide range of productions that include but are not limited to watersports, river scenes and flood related scenes or demonstrations. Tees Barrage is a truly unique, diverse site located in the North East of England and has an expert team and the facility has the ability to simulate extreme water conditions in a controlled environment.

Having worked on some big budget productions we have the experience and expertise in setting up safe realistic demonstrations with our own staff and presenters alike. We have worked with live TV, National Geographic, Sky TV, Channel 4, CBBC, ITV, CITV, BBC as well as a Hollywood production company.

Most recently Hollywood took to Tees Valley to film part of the award winning war epic 1917 at Tees Barrage International White Water Course which was released in cinemas in January 2020 following the filming on location in June 2019.

Other recent features have included being aired on BBC’s Countryfile on a piece based around the River Tees as well as CITV’s Dare Master where a group of Under 18’s took to the rapids for a white water rafting adventure.
