Like you, we have been awaiting more detailed information regarding a proposed completion date for the maintenance work on the course and handover back from Canal & River Trust. Unfortunately, we have no involvement with the physical works or completion timeline, however, there is now water in the course, and whilst there is still work going on in the background, this is great news that a reopening date is seemingly getting closer.
As soon as we receive further information we will update you all and will publish the summer programme for the course.
Thanks for your patience and fingers crossed it won’t be long before we’re all back on the water.

This years annual Mayor’s Duck Race was hosted at Tees Barrage to conclude Armed Forces Week as part of Stockton on Tees Borough Council’s range of events to support our Armed Forces community and to celebrate the work they do at home and abroad.
Hundreds of little yellow ducks were let loose down the white water course on the morning of Friday 29th June in order to raise money for the charities helping wounded soldiers. The glorious weather set a lovely scene of yellow ducks bobbing down the course as they took on the rapids.
Prizes were awarded for the first ten small ducks and the first three larger, corporate ducks over the finishing line.
It was a great morning down at The Barrage raising a significant amount of money for a great cause in a light hearted manor.
